Puppy Kindergarten
(6 months old and younger)
8 week class
$150.00

New puppy? We can help! Our puppy program teaches both the puppy parents and the dogs how to get started on the right foot for a happy and productive life. We will help your puppy learn important socialization skills with other dogs and new people. They will also learn all the basics of obedience – sit, down, stay, come, and walking on a leash. We will also cover house breaking and house manners – no jumping, no biting/nipping, etc.

Beginner Manners
(6 months and older)
8 week class
$150.00

Our Beginning Obedience class will help your dog learn the basics at any age! We will help you and your dog learn and become more consistent with commands such as sit, down, stay, come and walking on a leash. You will also learn ways to prevent jumping and pulling. In this class we work on proper socialization behavior for meeting both new people and dogs.

Level 2 Obedience
requirements: puppy or 1st level obedience class
8 week class
$150.00

In our Level 2 class, we expand on the skills that are learned in the Puppy or Beginner Manners classes. We start to add the Three D’s = Distance, Distraction and Duration. Your dog will learn how to listen to you in more distracting environments like outside or at the park. Obtaining this level is generally required before moving into the agility programs.

Level 3 Obedience
requirements: Level 2 obedience class
8 week class
$150.00

In our Level 3 class we continue to expand on the foundations that have been formed in our Beginner Manners and Level 2 classes. We will further increase the Three D’s as well as working on off leash skills.

Flyball

If you don't have a crate you might want to get one, but empty crates are available at the building, too.  Either way, be prepared to somehow confine your dog.  It will need to rest between exercises, and you will not always be available to hold its leash since you will be learning other jobs in flyball besides handling.  If you don't already have a harness for your dog, and it weighs more than 20 lbs., we suggest you get one as soon as you can.  Recommended brands are the Sure-Fit harness by Premier, and Lupine.  Measure your dog before purchasing to make sure you get the right size.

Choke collars, prong collars and flexi-leads (retractable leashes) are not permitted in class.  Martingale or other limited slip collars are OK.  A 6-foot leash is preferred.  Collars and leashes should be made of fabric or leather only – no chain.  This for the handler’s protection as well as the dog’s.  All dogs must be on leash as they enter and exit the building and training area.

Other things to bring with you:

  1. The completely filled-out and signed Release The Hounds “Flyball Training” form
  2. Poop bags (they can be purchased at the building if necessary)
  3. "Good" treats and treat bag (“good” meaning something your dog gets rarely, like string cheese, or chopped bits of lunch meat)
  4. Water dish
  5. A favorite toy or tug
  6. A "hungry" dog (don't feed dinner, or entire dinner before class)
  7. A clicker if your dog is used to training with one.

Wear comfortable clothes and appropriate shoes, as your dog isn’t the only one who will be running.
